Teladoc CMO Named to National Quality Forum Telehealth Committee

Brings extensive experience of Teladoc quality initiatives to aid in shaping the industry

LEWISVILLE, Texas (December 20, 2016) — Teladoc, Inc. (NYSE: TDOC), the undisputed leader in telehealth, providing access to care for millions, today announced that Henry DePhillips, chief medical officer, has been named to the newly formed National Quality Forum (NQF) Telehealth Multi-stakeholder Committee. NQF leads national collaboration to improve health and healthcare through measurement and other quality innovation initiatives. Leveraging his experience driving clinical quality initiatives at Teladoc, Dr. DePhillips will work closely with the multi-stakeholder NQF committee to establish a structure for measuring the quality of telehealth encounters and to identify existing and potential metrics that could be used to evaluate the quality of telehealth services.

The NQF Committee will assess the best means of measuring the quality of healthcare services that incorporate telehealth as the primary delivery method, and guide the future development of telehealth-related measures. The Committee will conduct multi-stakeholder reviews of existing and potential telehealth metrics, identify current measurement gaps, and develop a measurement framework and a set of guiding principles for potential future telehealth measurement. This work is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
